Biographical Notes

Son of William & Martha Frances (nee FOX) WEIR. Brother Francis was killed in action in 1918 at the Somme. Brother Thomas William WEIR also served in WWI. Educated at Purakanui & Waimataitai Schools. Died December 1951. Extracts from letters home of Jim & Bill reprinted in Timaru Herald, 12 January 1917.
