Biographical Notes

The youngest son of the late A. and Mary Ann Mathieson of Mt Cole Creek, Via Ararat, Victoria, Australia. Brother of Jan Mathieson (GPO, Bluff) and Alexr Mathieson (of Greenhills, Invercargill). Married Margaret Ethel Owen Cooper Gibson at Bluff on 16 August 1916. Mathieson had several step children: Ethel May (b.1906), Robert Ernest (b.1908), and Alice Lilian (b.1910), all born at Bluff. Mathieson'd wife lived at Bluff until 26 March 1920 when she moved to 49 Catherine St, Timaru.
