Biographical Notes

Son of Joseph Samuel & Kathleen Agatha (nee GAREY) HOPKINS, of Gapes Valley. Attended Bromley School, Christchurch, & Gapes Valley School. Brother Harrap William HOPKINS died of disease in 1915 & brother Leslie Garey HOPKINS was killed in action in 1917. Married Enid Zoe FOWLER in 1927; son Harrap Douglas HOPKINS, daughter Zoe Constance Catherine HOPKINS. Presented with a wristlet watch at his farewell in Gapes Valley hall in January 1918.
