Biographical Notes

Lewis Edgar Campbell was the son of John Robert Campbell of Southbridge, Canterbury, NZ. Lewis became a farmer in Motu, Gisborne. He married Marthanna Price in 1911 and in 1913 they had their first child, Margaret who unfortunately died aged only six days. Sadly his wife died shortly after on 6 April 1913. Both Little Margaret and wife Marthanna Campbell are buried in the Makaraka Cemetery in Gisborne.
