Biographical Notes
Hearn's Military service records indicate he served with the Geraldine Mounted Rifles (disbanded in 1910 with the Territorial Act), but it appears he did not transfer to the Territorials. He was balloted for service in decemebr 1917, but was granted leave without pay while he appealed his callup. Eventually he went into camp at Trentham, posted to "A Coy 45th" on the 12 August 1918 and soon after on "leave without pay until further order on demob" on 28 November 1918. Not listed on the Nominal Rolls; Listed as Reserves on NZSG WW1 index (2002)
