MILITARY FUNERALS. PRIVATE C. T. SKEVINGTON. The funeral of the late Private C. T. Skevington, of the 18th Reinforcements, took place at Geraldine yesterday, when a very large number of residents of the locality paid a' tribute of respect, by following in the sad procession of gathering round the grave side. Headed by the firing party and the officers of the district, including. Col. Mackenzie, Captain Gresham, and Lieut. Sherratt, the procession left Brookleigh, Pleasant Valley, the residence of the deceased's parent's, for Geraldine, and it included many on foot as well as those in motors and other vehicles The service was impressively conducted by the Rev. G. B. Hunt, and the usual volley having been fired by the firing party, the "Last Post" was sounded.
